Thought for the Day

James 1:12; 12Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”

On the path to spiritual maturity, which we all should tread, even temptation becomes a stepping stone rather than a stumbling block when you realize that it is just as much an occasion to do the right thing.  Every time you choose to do good instead of sin, you are growing in the character of Our Savior Jesus Christ:

Galatians 5:22-23; 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

God uses the opposite situation to allow us a choice.  Integrity is built by defeating the temptation to be dishonest; humility grows when we refuse to be prideful; and endurance develops every time you reject the temptation to give up.  Every time you defeat a temptation, you become more like Jesus!
