Thought for the Day

Live the life of love, respect, responsibility and truth.

Do not be deterred by those who do not.

Ephesians 5:15 – 17;15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,  16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.  17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.”

Those who live a balanced life will avoid the evil of others.

1 Peter 3:17;17For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.”

It is very important that you live a balanced life, if you wish for a long, happy life.  God has prepared a list of those things that will keep you in balance – a list you will find in your Bible.

Matthew 22:37-39;37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.  38This is the first and great commandment.  39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

Matthew 28:18-20;18And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  19Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

These two scriptures (above) sum up God’s purposes for our life!

“Love God with all your heart.”

“Love your neighbor as yourself.”

“Make disciples around the world.”

“Teach them to do all things.”

“Baptize them.”

Meet regularly in small groups so that each may understand and edify others.

Proverbs 27:17;17Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

1 Thessalonians 5:11;11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”

Philippians 4:9;9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

But always:

2 Corinthians 13:5;5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”

Philippians 4:4 – 8;4Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.  5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.  6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.  7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Romans 8:28,38;28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose….38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,  39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
